Nomad Promotions is on a mission to bring world class boxing to regions of the world that have birthed some of the greatest fighters, but haven’t yet seen their champions battling on home soil.

We are here to put boxing back into the hearts and hands of athletes and true boxing fans. Through exhilarating stadium fight nights with big belts on the line, but also through a model that brings long-term investment to local boxing academies, and new opportunities for next generation talent.

Over the next 3 years we aim to make Kazakhstan and Central Asia a destination for the biggest boxing talents to step into the ring and write new chapters of boxing history. We begin with an IBF and WBO unified world middleweight championship defence by Janibek Alimkhanuly in Astana – Kazakhstan’s first ever world title fight.

Boxing Promoter

Scott Murray has been involved in boxing for over 40 years.

A former area amateur boxing champion, who worked for Promoter & Manager Ron Gray in the 80’s, and has also hosted hundreds of amateur boxing shows and boxing celebrity dinner shows at his own venue Bar Sport and the Premier Suite in Staffordshire England.

Scott has worked with all the leading boxing legends and sports personalities over the years including Lennox Lewis, Larry Holmes, Gerry Cooney, Marvelous Marvin Hagler, Anthony Joshua, Jim Watt, Ken Buchanan, Ray ‘Boom Boom’ Mancini, Vinny Paz, Barry McGuigan, John Conteh, John H Stracey and Henry Cooper to name a few.

Now a professional boxing promoter licensed by the British Boxing Board of Control and the Kazakhstan Professional Boxing Federation, he is the founder of the prestigious Excelsior Sporting Club, holding exclusive black tie professional boxing dinner shows in the Midlands UK.

Sam Katkovski.

Head of Event Operations

From managing World Champions and prospects including Regis Prograis and Ammo Williams, to overseeing operations for major events such as Crawford vs. Avanesyan in Omaha — I have been full-time in the sport since 2010. Most recently I was brought in by Team Combat League (TCL) to help build the business and lead all events and operations. In three months, we put on nearly 30 events around the United States. Before TCL, I was an equity partner in the start-up Ring City USA which aired on NBC Sports, where I was the architect behind the fight programming and talent discovery. I helped bring in standout prospects William Zepeda, Oshaquie Foster, Christian Mbilli, Charles Conwell, Rocky Hernandez and others. Additionally, I have consulted on numerous content projects, including the boxing reality show “The Contender” and multiple documentaries such as “Heavy / Tyson Fury” which aired on ESPN and “State of Play” which aired on HBO.

Rustam Kuanshaliyev.

CEO

An engineering graduate with a masters in entrepreneurship and innovation from Imperial College London, Rustam is the Co-Owner & Vice President of IGS, one of Kazakhstan’s leading construction companies. Under his leadership, IGS has achieved over 22,000,000 work hours without a lost time incident, successfully executed over $1 billion worth of projects in the oil & gas sector for industry giants such as KPO b.v., NCOC N.V., and TCO LLC, and managed a workforce peaking at 2,870 employees.

Splitting his time between London and Astana, Rustam is passionate about transforming Kazakhstan into a premier sports destination. “Building is what I do,” he says. “My company specialises in pipelines, and as CEO of Nomad Promotions, my goal is to build a pipeline of world-class boxing events across Kazakhstan. 2025 marks our takeoff year, but we are here for the long haul.”

British Matchmaker

Jon Pegg is one of the UK’s leading Boxing Matchmakers, licensed by the British Boxing Board of Control.

A former amateur and professional boxer, Jon has promoted over 100 shows, Matched over 300 professional shows and also managed and trained boxers from the Midlands area level to world titles.

He has been involved in fights of the year, currently manages over 40 boxers and is highly regarded in the professional boxing community.

THE FORMER WBA LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD, INTERNATIONAL BOXING HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE, TV SPORTS PRESENTER & USA SPORTS COMMENTATOR.

Ray ‘Boom Boom’ Mancini, an American former professional boxer & former World Champion who competed from 1979 to 1992 and who has since worked as an actor and USA Sports Commentator.

He held the WBA World Lightweight Title from 1982 to 1984, was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2015, and who’s fascinating life story was portrayed in the book & the film ‘The Good Son”.

A boxing historian with an exciting charismatic personality, Ray is highly respected in the boxing world.

Al Bernstein is best known to the public as the voice of boxing, first for ESPN, and then for Showtime.

A renowned boxing historian, he has also carved out a successful career in television, movies, and as a live stage performer.

In 2012, Al received the highest honour in boxing as one of only a few broadcasters to be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Richard is a qualified accountant with over 20 year’s experience working across media, telecoms and energy sectors including Time Warner, Avanti Communications Plc and ADM Energy Plc where he served as Chairman and CFO.

Richard has listed companies on NASDAQ, AIM, Frankfurt, Cyprus and Vienna stock exchanges and has extensive experience in fundraises, having raised over $1bn in equity and bonds in his career.

As Chief Financial Officer, Richard will be supporting management in all aspects of commercial and financial strategy.

Andy has over 15 years working across brand, media and marketing, with some of the world’s biggest and most innovative brands.
He is the founder and principal of Hearts & Minds, a global consultancy that has helped businesses to create, cumulatively, over a billion dollars of new value.

Steve Bash began his career in combat sports in 2005 as an attorney representing professional boxers and MMA fighters. Over the next 20 years, Mr. Bash provided management, marketing, production, promotional and legal services to U.S. and international promotional organisations, entertainment media companies, and businesses involved in combat sports including Sela/Riyadh Season, Top Rank, M-1 Global, and many others. Mr. Bash has also been intimately involved with the launch of various boxing and MMA brands, providing athletes, managers, and promotional companies a full-service platform to make their marks in the boxing and MMA businesses. Mr. Bash oversees his own boxing promotional brand (Bash Boxing) and MMA brand (Up Next Fighting).
